Of the 331,449,281 people in the United States counted in the 2020 census, 9.7 million or 2.9 percent of the U.S. population registered as Native Americans. Most live on designated reservations. These people are the first Americans. They are proud of their country, the United States and proud of their Native American heritage. To better understand these people, I have embarked upon a research journey to discover their culture, history, and art. I dedicate this page to Chief Dan George (1899 –1981).
Under the title The First Americans, these stories cover certain Naïve American Nations, their history, culture, troubles, and solutions from the start of immigration to today’s experiences. These pages will not be scholarly work but rather a simple set of essays giving me and you a better understanding of the first Americans.
